Thanks for a great read. Your tour includes some of my favorite rides (Robinson, Swartberg, Hell, Anysberg...) but I'll never dream of stringing them together like you did. Respect to you all.

No details how the bikes faired, all went well? Guess you packed the essential spares and tools.

Kosmonooit we had almost zero mechanicals.

 

1 x flat tire, with a mini sidewall.

 

One of the bikes had a cassette and chain replaced 2/3rds in, but this was due for replacement before the trip already.

 

As we are not riding hard and there is limited single track on the trip, the bikes were great, but here is a short list of spares that we carry:

 

1. deraileur hangers

2. shift and brake cables

3. plugs and sealant

4. crank bolts

5. cable ties

6. duct tape

 

with duct tape and cable ties, you can always make a plan.
