wow, didn't realise this actually was official.

promotion/relegation will be a toughie, suppose during the finals time?

Wonder where all the surplus Lions players will end up? Reckon the ones with escape clauses are already on the market, but they should walk the vodacom cup with whoever they have locked in.

Well look at what the Cheetahs have to work with. Every year 10 new players as 10 other leave. If a coach had one core group of players for plenty of years then it is a bit easier to get results.

In view hereof I think Naka is a great coach compared to guys like Allistair dont you think?

Sorry Garf, I disagree. Will admit my opinion is a biased opinion. Just never been a kaka fan. Allistair in my opinion is not a bad coach the Stormers just need to add an attack coach to their setup

I think this is the end of the lions for a while (10years) just like Ep was lost in the system for a few years. Plus there are so many politics behind the Kings which will make it hard for them to lose their position in Super rugby

dunno, could go either way. Lions must just take it on the chin and sort out their house from the ground up. They've been consistently the worst side since they split from the CATS. Last year's CC win was a false dawn as clearly it was weaker without the boks playing, and they sneaked the knockouts against disrupted teams. proof is the crap they dished up again this year.

WP missed the super rugby in 1997 after not making the 1996 CC semis.

Turned it around in and won the CC 3 times in the next 5 years.

If I am not mistaken there is a clause in there contracts that says the union cannot prevent you playing Super rugby. I also think you get a Super rugby contract as well as a Currie Cup contract. Don't know if you can remember or if you have heard of SARPA (South African Rugby Players Association) they inserted a few clauses into these contracts a few years back which protects the players from being prevented from playing at a higher level

It may have changed

Going to be tough for the Kings. First year in Superrugby with new systems, team and setup always tight, especially away games. So logic says they should finish last next year. Then got to play the fired up , rested ( and underplayed) Lions in a one off. Lose that game and they gone again. Thats quite daunting.

Might also might log position a bit easier for the big guns like Sharks Bulls Stormers, as they play the Kings twice each.

Good luck to the Kings. I hope they can belt a few past the Aussies for us , but won't be easy.

Yes you are biased. How dare you disagree with the Garf. The Garf is well known for his amazing rugby knowledge. WikiGarf.

The Blue Boks did not hold my interest and I watched Test Cricket instead yesterday...

Ai, Heyneke....:-(

My weekend's sport was complete on Friday night already when the Cheetahs won their game ... :whistling:

The boks have lots of work ahead if they want to remain in contention for the rugby championship. Need to work on their ball retention if they want to compete against NZ

Yes, at least he can do what he was selected for in the first place. But man of the match performance? I don't think so. I believe that should have gone to Adriaan Strauss.
