fandacious Posted February 27, 2012 Share I've got a 6mth old and a 2yr old i've entered into the tricycle tour. I just noticed this "As part of the safe cycling initiative, the strict “No Helmet No Ride” rule will apply to all cyclists (and that includes Mum and Dad)." I'm sorry, but I aint pushing a pram with a helmet on...
Ratty Posted February 27, 2012 Share I think thats only if you are riding along with them :-) I'll also be there, taking my 3 1/2 year old son. He did the one at Knysna last year and loved it.
nuge Posted February 28, 2012 Share last year it took me and the mrs about an hour to get around the course, taking turns carrying our little one and the plastic bike after madam decided that being carried was in fact the way to travel. was more racked after that than the next day around the peninsula. this year, i trust she's going to spend a little more time actually on the bike! Scott2luvit Posted February 28, 2012 Share my 4 year old daughter will take it on as well, still riding with training wheels though, she doesn't get as much chance as dad to be on the bike unfortunately

Ratty Posted February 28, 2012 Share my 4 year old daughter will take it on as well, still riding with training wheels though, she doesn't get as much chance as dad to be on the bike unfortunately I gave my son the choice to ride his KTM (balance bike) or his bicycle with training wheels. He is more comfortable on the ktm and wants to ride that so I'm not going to push it.

Ratty Posted March 4, 2012 Share I was actually thinking of getting my daughter one of those as well Best thing we bought. They aren't cheap, but worth every cent. He has had it for over 2 years and still loves it. Still working perfectly and it gets crashed a lot (on purpose).
Christopher Brunsdon Posted March 4, 2012 Share My son is all hyped for his 2nd tour, we had to skip last year because little sister was too young to take her with - this year she will be riding in the support pram (taking her helmet & Piwi just in case). My son cannot wait to show off his helmet (see my profile pic) and got him the Y-bike extreme - so I'm going to be running after him

The Tricycle tour for under 6 is where the parents just run along side the kids. I don't think they will expect you to wear a helmet.
