awesome was reading up on the whole leatt story, big debates but apparently the 661 hemets work well with them

 

yeah... it is a huge debate. I have a good friend who broke his back as a result of wearing a leatt. But it also may have saved his life?!

 

I heard the Troy Lee D3's are the best DH helmets to match with a neck brace... but that's some big dough right there! Hopefully the Airoh Fighter DH comes in a lot cheaper

heard the D2s are one of the worst haha. yeh its a hard one. there are people that have ended up in a wheel chair even with a leatt. but i guess its just one of those things

The problem is that it is impossible to know, if when an injury occurs, that the alternative unprotected damage would have been worse.

 

I used to race in the offroad scene, and myself and the folks I rode with all wore them. One of my mates died (crushed brain stem) while wearing one, but I know of many others that were "saved"; looking at the extent of the damage to the Leatt etc it was evident that without it he would have died anyway.

not really an upgrade... moe of a precautionary measure, recently purchased for an alps trip.
