So for some reason, despite the awesome weather, there were substantially less sub3's this year.

Who of you made that elusive sub3 a reality?

2:55 (PB) and my first sub 3hr. Super excited!! There seemed to be more wind than last year and B group was very relaxed on the Blue Route.

Road bike hanging up and MTB out, Cape Epic here we come...

Last year's weather was awesome.

This year - not so much (far from terrible though)

So the Sub 3 Club is a bit more exclusive.

This year there were 565 sub 3's.

Last year there were 958 sub 3's.

Anyone ordered the Sub 3 kit?

How do you explain this drop, other than heat and a slight wind conditions were fairly good yesterday.

Got it for the 2nd time (done 3 Argus races) and bettered last years time by 4m12s. Wasn't my best on the day. Think I over trained in the weeks leading up to the race, but at least it leaves room for improvement for next year.

p.s. where do I see what the kit looks like?

I saw an interview of a guy in Smt on his 2nd lap wearing white sub 3 kit which looked quite nice.

WELL DONE!!!

You'll have to tell me (off-line) where you overtrained with such a good result.

The time too. But finishing within a few bike lengths of the A bunch, that's superb racing.

PS Do not buy the kit. It is not PRO.

My brother rode VB and he said there was a guy in their group on a 29'r who finished with them. 2.52. Pretty sharp. Only managed a 3.21 on my mtb. Perfect day.

I speak under correction, but the guy on the 29er stayed with the VB break group until Suikerbossie, where I passed him, and did not see him come pass me at any point, unless he took a ride on the beach. He was really strong, but then again, it was a S-Works Epic, and not just any 29er!
