Downhill, Freeride, Trail in GP

I see quite a few guys riding aroud the spruit with some serious downhill and free ride bikes. So where do they go to put these bikes through their paces in Gauteng?

 

Also any recommendations for a good trail ride within 2-3hrs of Jhb. Been to Greonies, Van Gaalens etc etc and looking for something new

We ride these big bikes on the Spruit because of the huge anthills.

Those are just a few places where bigger bikes can be ridden on the spruit.

 

Other than that... we just ride em cos they look cool

 

Other places to ride big bikes in Gauteng... Helderkruin, 139, and Fountains. A big bike can also be quite fun ta the bike park

I'm not so sure you want to find it. Gilloleys DH is known as the course that breaks riders and bikes.

 

139 in Waterkloof is by far the most fun DH course in Gauteng

Na its just that i live in norwood , quick cycle to the ridge. Is it on the incline on the ridge that leads to the back of gilooleys?

"Fucshia st in Waterkloof is the best place to park and access it. As you drive towards the end of the street (dead end) you should see one of the jumps on your right. Park in that vacinity. That's about the half way mark on the track."
