Wait until you see the sliced bread invention.

Seriously I hate using bombs, always getting

My hands frozen or Over inflating.

Found a very simple solution to the "frozen hands" problem... cut a old road bike tube into approx. 8cm sections and slide these over the CO2 cartridge - the rubber is a great insulator and will protect your fingers. Most tyres have some sort of powder on the inside which makes it even easier to do this.

And it stops the bomb rattling in the tubby bag

Better even....use a couple of windings of duct tape over the bomb...

it serves the dual purpose of keeping your hands from freezing AND the duct tape can come in very handy to tape up any nasty cuts (like a huge piece of elastoplast bandage!!) till you can get to a doctor....very harcore, I know.

Duct tape can also be used for many other on-route repairs on you bike...

No pricking around with a hand pump for 10 minutes

10 minutes! Damn you pump slow!

I have changed a tube in a race - from stop to back on the road in 4 minutes....... I have had lots of practice in training rides though. I don't use a bomb. My pump is one of those stick BBB pumps that clip onto a bracket on the seat tube.

My LBS warned me about them getting cold and the ones I got come a neoprene bombdom sleeve which worked like magic.

I have used 100's over the years and never had a problem with the cold.No big deal

Just make sure your hands are dry

Christopher Brunsdon ... man up. Do a couple of push-ups and give your pump another try.

To those ladies crying about "cold little fingers" when using a bomb, wear full finger gloves. Then lick the outside of the cartridge after inflating your tyre.
