Anyone got experience with Glider eyewear? Thinking of getting a pair of "Asphalts"... can't afford Rudy, Adidas, Oakley, etc :P at R499 the Glider's seem alright. Fairly comfy, Polarised, and with a rubber strip along the top for sweat...

The other option is Ocean Eyewear, a tad cheaper...

I know quite a few guys who use Ocean, no complaints. You can get Photochromics for around R600 or less.

tried on some of the Ocean Eyewear options (not the photochromatics though) and found this particular Glider pair to have a tad more coverage...

I have the Asphalts. I like it. Good lenses, comfortable, and I find that they don't fog up easily. Also use them for running and they're fine.

Bought a pair of Asphalts and Bravados at the Argus Expo for R675.

Rad, thanks for the feedback. Fogging up and sweat are a bitch, so glad to hear it. Does that rubber "sweat" pad work then, without being irritating?

I don't even notice the rubber sweat thing. I do sweat quite a bit, and during the Argus I had no issues with sweat in my eyes. Never had to remove it to wipe sweat from my eyes.

just bought them... very comfy, will report back once I've done a couple of rides

quite impressed at Glider - soft bag and hard case, nice! plus I got a second (not that cool) pair of sunnies free

Where did you buy them from?

Two short rides with them and so far so good. Fairly light, comfortable, don't shift around, and, despite the hot weather, no sweat on the lens or in my eyes (yet) and no fogging up. Good glare reduction, not too dark, optics seem clear and peripheral vision is unhindered. No cons as of yet
