My Volcan XC3 hanger broke the other day while I was in mid air, landed without a wheel, but thats a story for another day.

I have been trying to source a hanger, the bike shop is struggling and I fear the bike has been discontinued.

My question: Who can I approach to custom machine one for me if I have all the relavant dimension?

Thanks

There's an online shop that specializes in derailleur hangers for all sorts of bikes. Seemed rather affordable too. I can't remember the name of the shop, but if you use the search function a little on here, you'll probably find a thread referencing it.

Volcan is not exactly a rare brand. I'm pretty sure you should be able to get one, if the agents can't supply you with one, then they must make a plan for you. If I'm not mistaken Volcan is an in house brand of Emotion Cycling, so they should have something in stock or should be able to order one for you.

....bit of advice buy 2. I always keep one spare because a hanger is not something a LBS keep stock of (if it comes from a non- popular bike). Sounds stupid but it saved me from not being able to cycling for 2 weeks!

Amen to that!

I broke one of mine on a thursday. I really wanted to ride on the weekend. Only 1 place in JHB had Morewood hangers in stock. Cost me nearly R400. A few months later I put through a rushports order and they sold the hangers for about R120, so I threw in 2.

a bit off topic: I have bent mine three successive times, and snapped a chain because of it and had to take bike in 3 times to adjust gears etc, does this mean it is of bad quality?

Catgirl, replace the hanger. The metal gets soft over time when it gets bent repeatedly.

Sandbagger, the site they are talking about is deraileurhangar.com will send you the link.

Have you tried cyclelab? They used to sell it, they might have a hanger in a box somewhere.

Speak to Chris Willemse, when I was in CT over Xmas, I couldn't find a Yeti Hanger, he put me in touch with some people that would machine a new hanger, but I cannot remember their name.

Remembered now, Scorch Design, I think he said that they would be able to machine me one, but they had closed for Xmas already.

They are in Stikland.
