Hello everyone,

Which nice (and safe) options are available in and around Jhb?

We're staying in Bedfordview and even though we love going to Groenkloof etc. from time to time we don't always want to travel that far.

Regards,

Thaba trails just around the corner from Rietvlei is also a good option, but tougher than Rietvlei though

If you prepared to drive a bit...Van gaalens gets my vote as the best trails in Gauteng, but that is just me

Isn't VG in the North West?

To the OP, Groenies, alas, is one of the easiest to get to from where you are, but some of the others - like VG - are, like rouxtjie says, worth the drive.

ahhh you are right, but the drive from 4 ways takes me 30min so it still feels like gauteng....ok best trails in the northwest

Rietvlei near Alberton will take 25 minutes from Bedfordview. Always good with some challenging sections. Thaba Trails is probably 5 minutes from Rietvlei and is also good but far more challenging than Rietvlei.

Also do yourself a favor and take the drive to Krugersdorp and go ride the Krugersdorp game reserve, not very technical but a lot of fun and the scenery is just spectacular. For 30bucs a day(there is a restaurant and swimming pool) its well worth it. that's my 2c
