Front shock lockout on 29er

Some people swear by it, the magasines promote it but at around R2,000 retrofit costs Im ..welll.not sold.

 

Opinions form those who use a front shock lockout?

I would also like to know....I have a hard tail 29er with the reba fork...considering getting the sid xx with remote lockout....is this overkill - I do road riding and do like to stand on the bike at times...(hijack off)

Broke my lockout within a week of having my bike. Haven't missed it.

If it's retro fit don't bother. Rather work on your technique to not pump the bike when pedaling hard. Better for you, better for the bike.

Yes, I am still a beginner in terms of most of the guys here, but I still see a lot of which look like experienced cyclists bobbing up and down with their shoulders when pedaling hard. I thought the idea was to keep your shoulders and head still to conserve energy in the body.
