The company i work for, their pharmacy paying a visit and offering flu vaccination. I’ve never had one but thinking about getting the jab.

I’m not a sickly person; i generally get sick twice a year – during summer and winter. I normally get the typical head cold but ever since i’ve been training a lot harder, i seem to get knocked harder with the flu – sinuses and chest.

BUT i have a race on the29th April and i heard after the jab you get sick...

With your first few jabs you can get mild flu symptoms.

I have been having the jab every year for about 20 years so it does not have any effect anymore.

If you have a jab every year it seems that you eventually build up a good resistance to just about all types of flu.

I never seem to get flu at all.

Have a jab now & you got plenty of time to get over anything.

What tgip said, your event is too close to have a flu shot, I'll rather reccommend a Vit B short once a week until after you're event. Being your first time you'll feel the syptoms for a week maybe 2. I've been going consistently for the past 5 years, but 4 weeks ago I just broke out into a cold sweat/fever, lasted for 2-3 days but everyone is different.

Ya, i heard you get sick but very mild, but then i made the mistake of asking the ladies at my work and their reply was, ''i took that jab and omg i got sooooooooooooooooo sick'

I cant afford to be man down for ten days. i don't mind missing maybe two days of gym but not the usual ten when i do get sick.

thanks.

The Vit b shot is on the bum, it stings & burns the entire day & you limp for the next 2 days that's the only downside to it.

LOL, WTF???? It's not bad at all.

Either the nurse who gave you the jab used a needle size of a hosepipe or you just a pansy ass.

It stings a tad for a min tops then all gone.

My bumz made of steel!

GRRRRR!

Ya, im going to give it a miss...already had the flu in Feb for almost two weeks.

Lol, I got a Vit B 2 years ago and swore never to get every again. Couldn't sit for 2 days after it.

I got my first Flu jab a month ago. Luckily it didnt affect me (or hurt at all when I got the jab). But I also have heard many people say they get the flu after taking it.

this is a revelation to me i never considered keeping at it each year... i just get so peeved off getting sick from a flu shot i just stay away from those things... our son got a shot at school last year and eventually it cost us a over Grand to get the bloke recovered.

LOL! I guess men bumz are skinny...mine well padded but it def not bad at all.

Next time you have it again (when your balls grow back :P ) give it a rub soon after the injection - massage it and massage it again in the shower...to get rid of that lump.

the mild flu symptoms is expected as they inject you with the virus, it's to make you immune to the virus, it is also much better than the full blown flu which in same cases have lead to death in the past. I guess you first have to experience it before you become a believer not that I'm wishing it on anyone, I'm just saying.

Had my shot on Thursday with no side effects but also have been taking it for ......years. Before I started taking it, I use to get flu about 3 times during the winter and worst of all, in January. I dont even get a cold during winter months since taking the injection. (not that the injection prevents colds btw), just saying

Hahaha, oh he will know what to rub...the ''issue'' that got him in a 'painful'' situation... ;p
