Hi ladies/gents

I have a friend who injured her hip in a car accident a few year ago. The docters have given the O.K. and she's trying to get into mountain biking with her hubby. Problem is, the bumps are giving her some pain in said hips. She owns a hardtail.

So, except for getting a soft-tail bike, what are her options? I've seen pictures of those old bike seats with springs underneath but have NEVER actually seen one, let alone in a shop... Does anyone here have knowledge or experience in this matter?

Thanks

Hi

I have a "suspension seatpost" which I used on my hardtail. It is not one of the fancy Thudbuster types but it has a spring inside the post itself. It worked well enough for me. You are welcome to have it if you pay postage. Just supply me with the seatpost inside diameter and I will see if it will fit.

just my 2c but if the problem is her hips, then a suspension seatpost is only going to help her when she's sitting, and only so much... when standing over rough terrain the force is still going to travel up her legs and into her hips...

although it's going to cost more, forking out for a +- 120mm travel full susser might not be the worst idea...

Seats you talking of are -Brooks saddles, have a look on chain reaction. Dont know of anyone who stocks locally in Pta. Try Bruce Reynecke Cycles, sure they can order
