Good thing I'm going on Sunday - I still look like a legend riding with my geared buddies on my rigid SS. You okes will probably put a huge dent in my ego! Hehe

You missed out nick! Twas great fun tootling round Modders on the SSers. For reasons unknown Iron chose a behemoth gear which meant he only had to pedal twice to complete the lap! Me - I was on a 32x18 and had way more fun.

We should start an SS Modders group - it's one of the few parks where on a SSer you're relatively comfortable. "The rock" is the only place where you need to fire the afterburners...

It's getting faster and faster every week that place.

A bit more technical stuff wouldn't hurt Mr. Organisers Sir (hint hint).

One of the trail builders (Grant I think) promised they were goin to add technical stuff. He also had a dropper post on his bike so I believed him....

Wicked! I love the meandering Modders trail and it makes SSing really good fun but we gotta add some adrenaline to the place!

There is rumour that you can ride over that large rock now. I drooled a little when I saw how many nice lines there were going down it. I'm hoping the place is sorted with some added difficulty (even if the are labelled black routes)by the time my eish broken wrist heals up...

A broken wrist? Have I been giving you mtb lessons????

I have a 100% record on that rock. HA! Although on the SS it requires a good run up and hemarroid creation.

There are some fine koppies/rocks on the north side of the park that have to have some slickrock/free ride/fun potential. The park itself doesn't really have enough gradient for "real" technical stuff. I reckon it'll be mostly flowing single track and rocky drop offs.

Here's hoping I'll be proven wrong!

Yo! We went on Sunday - there were 4 SS'ers in our group - myself, the wife, hdp_gmx and another buddy. It was great fun and we were broken afterwards!

Here's our ride: http://www.brytonsport.com/mapTrackView/2?id=551267

Yellow lap followed by a green lap.

Hi Guys

I see all the talk about more technical trails. We are working on it, and once we have finalised the route, so that there will be no oncoming traffic, we shall begin to really step up the difficulty.

For those of you that have been to the park, you would have noticed the rocky outcrop right at the beginning of the trail, i am going to put a serious tech course there. Probably only be about 2 to 3 km but should be great fun, and claim some skin in the process.

I did see that there was a post regarding the rocky outcrop in the north of the park, please stay well away from that koppie as it contains the only indigenous fauna and flora left. It is highly eco sensitive, and anyone riding their will be thrown out, and dealt with by Heartland. It states in the house rules and indemnity that all users abide by the rules to stick to pre-determined routes/trails. We cut them around certain areas for specific and environmental reasons.

Lastly, I would like to open the trails for a night ride on the first weekend of June which is the 2nd. It co-incides with a full-moon which would be quite cool, and shed a little light on the trails.

Before doing this, i need to first find out how many people would be keen to ride and would come through.

Let me know asap, so I can organise.

Would be good to do a night ride there but would want to know whether there would be faster and slower groups.
