No, silly. The general consensus, is that he would have been using clenbuterol during the early part of the season to shed some weight. Then he would have had blood taken out, stored, and then transfused back into his body during the Tour to increase his hb level and aid his recovery. That's the generally accepted method in these days of EPO testing.

Autologous blood transfusion. Undetectable except by looking at the history of the athlete's red blood cell count (oh, and other markers...)

Search this forum for a recent thread on Ashendens resignation. Read an interview with him where he examined Contador's blood values for all of his GT wins, including the steak one, and draw the natural conclusion...

Nuff Said , you sure do know a lot about doping ;)

Go and read what the (ex)members of the biological passport panel are saying.

In that case is Ricco a rapist ?

Certainly not in this country. Rapists here would never get a 12 year sentence. Far to harsh.

Jens Voight is 40...

You expect Ricco to maintain/improve his fitness in the next 12 years be sitting on the sidelines and not riding a single race? Doubtful.

Nice he deserves it!

Blood transfusion is a bit more serious than a little clenbuterol though...

Remember the "plasticisers" they found while testing for Clen in Contodaor.... well those little suckers were a by-product (and the clen for that matter) of the blood he was topping up with in the tour, the blood he "banked" earlier in the year contained the Clen, he didnt ingest it in the steak he ate....

Plasticisers are from blood doping with many small bags, and not one large bag. The increased surface contact to the bag plastic when topping up only 100-200ml and new testing protocols now pick that up.

So is the Clenbuterol the problem, or are the transfusions?
