Sram road gear levers with sram mtb derailleurs?

Hi there,

Any idea whether it is possible to use sram road levers (such as sram apex...) with sram mtb derailleurs (for example sram x7)?

For what reason would you want to do that?

Gonna be difficult coz gear setting for road RD are adjusted at the back while mtb are at the front at the shifters.

Just make sure you have a cable adjustment point at either the front or the back, otherwise it will be fine. Plan B is to have one put in like some bikes that I have seen (looks like a pvc canister that screws out to tension the cable more).

I have read elsewhere that the 10 spd mtb derailleurs will work with the road shifters, but not the 9 speed derailleurs.

I have Shimano road levers on our tandem with a 9speed shimano LX rear Derailure... works just fine!
