but spend the R100 bucks extra and get gripshifts :D

Havent really ever tried the gripshifts.Seems harder having to move down the grip to shift then just click with thumb ? idk. I feel like i would lose some control on the bars ?

welcome to the darkside mate.

Still not shure about the gripshifts. Friend of mine super keen on trying them, he's gonna order a set , so ill get to try over sometime on his ride.

Might have squeezed enough for the X9 shifters,will i notice a performance difference between the X7's,shifting crispness wise, not worried about weight .

They look a lot better, and yeah the feel is better, but i guess thats all relative, ive run x5 shifters with x9 derailures and been perfectly happy with that.

i run SRAM X0 on my DH bike ... its good ... :unsure: ....

But NOTHING compares to my XTR shifters and XT derailleurs on the Trail Bike :thumbup:

When it comes to brakes ... Shimano win hands down ... i even sold my Avid 4 pots that were on the DH rig to replace them with 2012 XT 2pots ...

WHAT A DIFFERENCE ... in my mind Avid are CRAP!

Buy an XT groupset for like 8 or 9k and you are DONE!

one thing i will say for SRAM though ... i want a pair of Carbon X0 cranks for the DH and trail rigs ... those cranks are sweet ... pity about the sh1tty BB's though

Meant to ask :blush: ;

which you think is more durable X7 shifters or X9 , like the levers and small moving parts inside.

TA again Covie ;)

As far as i know only the X0 shifters start using ballbearings which makes them "less" durable. The mechanism should be very similar inside the x7 and x9 not entire sure what the dynamics are.
