Damn, dude, jealous as hell here. Looks like you had SUPREME weather while you were there.

No. not really. I just took photo's when it was sunny. we had about 50/50 in terms of weather. Last year was way better on the weather front. It was still off the charts tho.

On a rather sad note our crew picked up an injury on the 2nd or 3rd riding day (It all kind of blurs together really) Richard crashed hard on the dirt road from Morzine into Les Gets and cracked a few ribs and did some other damage. Trip over.

I saw LOTS of the ambulance and the rescue Helicopter. I reckon I saw at least 8 people in slings. People forget how dangerous the thing really is.

Looks amazing Omega! Can't wait!

Just over 1 month until Peach and I leave. New bike is in transit as we speak. Now just to stay injury free until we're home again!

damn. I remember the reports called for clear skies apart from 1 day iirc. Glad you had a blast though - far better than the EPIC, and something I'd love to do in the future.

How'd the 'zocchi hold up?

Sweet man. You will love it. I'll keep posting up pictures for you to keep the stoke going. Just a few tiny bits of advice.

1. If it's raining don't ride the Les Gets main line. It sucks in the wet. rather ride Nauchettes or head to Chatel. They both seem to handle the rain better.

2. Make the effort to head over to Morgins. There are 5 tracks this year with multiple options on each. Super fun. Yes it's a trek to get out there but that's part of the fun.

3. DEFF ride Mosettes. It's a steeper version of the Les Gets main line with loads of transfer options and natural doubles. Super fun track even though i only got to ride it in the mist and rain which was less than ideal.

How'd the 'zocchi hold up?

Zocchi held up well. I had 1 flat the whole time (Cos I smashed a berm so hard I rolled the tire off the rim. Yeah Booi!)

I also had a broken chain but that's cos the track was so rough the chain broke at a half link.

I wanted to try some "off piste" tracks this year. Dylan and myself rode/stumbled/slid down a track on Pleney that was pretty much 60 degrees with roots and loose leaves all the way down. It was scary as hell and I immediately retreated back on to the super fast "easy" stuff.

I took my Cate Eye this year to see how the distances all pan out. I averaged 70km on my bike (excluding the lifts) every day.

On the day we went to Morgins my Cate Eye measured 85km. That's 85km of riding on a downhill bike excluding the multiple lift rides to and from Morgins and of course the lifts in Morgins. It's absolutely bonkers just how much riding you get through in a day over there.

Yup. and that's just the riding. Remember the wheels aint turning when you are on the ski lift.

The Les Gets main line is 6km lift to lift.

The Pleney (morzine) main line is 5km lift to lift

Chatel is 7-9km from to to bottom depending on what trails you choose to ride.

The ride into Morgins from Morzine measured at 24km. Remember that EXCLUDES the 3 lifts that you take to get there.

The Morgins trip was a real adventure. It was suuuuper misty. I'm not blessed in many areas but i'm blessed with a good sense of direction and riding over there in the mist after a single visit last year was scary.

And yeah, I've personally seen how un-blessed you are. But I share that trait with you at times...

The lift up Morgins. This is just before it got all misty and Wintery. There was still snow at the top of Mosettes but that's 2250m above sea level so not really that surprising.
