A couple of quick questions for the DH fraternity:

1. what brand jersey are you wearing (if you're wearing a brand at all)?

2. where did you buy it?

3. what are you willing to pay for a DH jersey?

4. are you even wearing a DH specific jersey, or are you wearing a MX shirt or tshirt / track top, etc?

Just been having a discussion around kit and the local market with a couple of mates and thought I'd do some research to help fuel the discussion ;)

Not a DH'er, but since I wear the kit...

1. TLD GP Air in summer and TLD GP in winter

2. CRC

3. Eish - less than what I am now, but really like the GP Air and not much available locally

4. Yeah

Posted (edited)

1. All my jerseys are Thor (only when I ride proper DH. T-shirts for all other riding)

2. Full Throttle Clearance Store

3. In the case of this DH kit (which I seriously want)... I'm willing to pay more than I should

4. No my Thor jerseys are just MX jerseys. My Fly Racing shorts are however DH specific.

I don't really do DH but:

1. Thor MX or Fly Racing MX Jersey in winter

2. Full Throttle clearance store

3. At the clearance store I got the jerseys for R100 each. So, not willing to pay much more that that, I dont see the point.

4. In winter its an MX jersey.

2. Got it off a sale rack somewhere (Hate paying full retail...)

3. R100?

4. No

So judging by most responses, very few of you would fork out for something like this for example?

I will. Was eyeing it last week. TLD GP Air is about the same price, but then you still have to add VAT and Duty...that just kills it off! Fortunately have a sister in UK who visits often enough. Most of my TLD kit is close to 3 years old and it's still going strong. I'm a firm believer of quality kit. GP Air breaths like nothing else which helps in the summer on longer rides.

Not me. That is WAY over my budget. Considering the chances of it getting trashed, I would settle for somethin a LOT less expensive. (It helps that I am not a brand whore when it comes to kit :D )

nope, not for me either, I don't see the diff between the Dakine jersey and a normal , Fox, Thor etc. MX jersey. I can't justify that price!

1. Shift MX top (I've been reall happy with the quality of the stuff)

2. Through a Hubber

3. As little as possible because I'm just going to trash it at some point

4. It's MX but I don't see the difference with a DH specific top.

A few guys have also gotten really good deals at the Fox sales from the distributors (There is one off Umgeni Road) I keep missing them though...
