What a wombat! I am one of those fat cyclists that in fact came last on day one and three of the adventure. I may not be a racing snake but I had the guts and determination to push through and the applause we got crossing the line in Scottburgh after six hours on the bike was a very emotional.

Don't judge too quickly......

Well done (fat cyclist) as I said before I think they must have a race just for these so called race snakes and let them pay according to the number of cyclist that enter . You will see the cost rise ,then they will complain about the cost . So much for development in the sport.

Wohhaaar!!! Listen slysi, Easy there Tiger. A little insecure???? Did the "inverted commas" not give away some of the sense of sarcasm or humor? or was the "slowed down" too much for you?????

Perhaps, you need to just chill a bit. Have a sip of beer or whatever, and calm down a second.

Slowbee can confirm the fact, I am not exactly of the pro cyclist genetic predisposition myself. Maybe, I was the "fat cyclist" holding him up????

Rant over!!!

Major respect. How the hell you guys keep going amazes me. I was following Ali Mclean's progress in her first real ride at Sani2c and the determination to finish is inspiring...

Pardon my ignorance but could you please tell me more about her or who she is?

It's tough at the back. We hit the big climbs during the heat of the day when others are finishing. We get in just before sunset when others have already collected their boxes, showered, cleaned bikes and had a few beers. Maar agteros kom ook in die kraal.

eish, there were many. Going up heartbeat hill, there were these two ladies, they had such wide handlebars I would have risked harvesting sugarcane if I overtook. Had to sit behind them the whole way up. Madness I tell you!

Nice chatting to you guys as well.
