New MTB shoes. R1200 budget

Any recommendations on great shoes at R1200 max.

 

Looking at the Shimano SH-M087WE at R1199

 

Any other shoes in that price range worth considering?

I can't really comment on the Shimano's as I have not had any experience with them.

Have I look at the Scott Pro shoes:

I got them when I had to replace my old Sidi's and I must say that I am really impressed with them.

I got them at Linden Cycles for about R1100.

Those shimanos are nice. I had a pair and found them very comfy.

 

Phone Northcliff cycles and see if they have any more sidis in stock. They were having a 50% off clearance sale, but it is probably have finished the stock by now.

I bought the Scott MTB Pro shoes about a year ago at Hotspot cycles for R 1200. AND THEY'RE AWESOME! Much better than the Sidi's I had before them.

Also look at Serfas shoes - retail at about R 650 I think.

 

Good value for money - I think cyclesonline has them.

I have the M087's and love them. I've had them for over a year, they've done thousands of km's and are still as good as new.

 

I choose them based on comfort at the time and suggest you do the same.

 

I tried Sidi's and Time shoes and they were nowhere near as comfy.

Ended up getting the Mavic Razors from Solomons for a little over budget.

 

Tried Lake, Sidi, Shimano and the Mavics. All great shoes but the Mavics are the best fit for me. Lake was the worst fitting followed by the Sidi and then Shimano.

 

Really happy with them.
