You hubbers know your stuff, 49.36 percent predicted right.

now the long wait for the dug tests, did he use LA's stuff or try his own stuff?. I hope he did not eat any meat

Ja but when was the poll closed?

No real reflection if there were still votes in the last week+

Noob Q, with regard to leader not being challenged on the last day:

What are the exact "rule" regarding the last day and the leader?

Does it only apply to the leader?

It is unlikely that a contender for the GC could get a time advantage on a flat stage like the one into Paris so the winner is pretty much secured the day before. As for the sprinters and the green jersey, that goes up to the line in Paris.

I never closed the poll.

But Wiggo was always the slight favourite at the start in Liege.

And then his popularity just went through the roof as the Tour unfolded.

The final day is more of a ceremonial procession into Paris.

With a bit criterium style racing on display which gives the sprinters their final showdown.

Yeah, it was short with little reverance.

Strange.

I thought his "the lucky draw" reference was very clever. Who really cares what the guys say post ceremony? The Texan got all holier than thou about believing blah blah blah and the only stuff he believed in was that his doctors were smarter than any one else's.

He thanked his team plenty before, every time he spoke to the press.

But how amazing was his pull with 1.2km to go? The saxo tinkoff guys were just ridden off his wheel.

Not everyone can take their son for a ride up the busiest rode in Paris and get it closed to traffic!

Rode there in 2000 for the Millennium celebrations, set off from Eiffel Tower around 6:30, did two laps and a bit then watched the start at 2pm.

Robbie McEwen took the sprint. Awesome day out.

Interesting background fact:

The process of assigning teams to hotels is very involved but what I find most interesting is the hotel ranking system that the race uses. After the route is announced, ASO contacts the host towns and starts organizing rooms for everyone. Bear in mind that the Tour revisits the same places over the years and already knows most of the hotels in France. Each hotel is ranked, some amazing, some pretty dank, and assigned a points value.

Using this points system, ASO tries to make sure that, cumulatively, every team receives the same level of hotels at the Tour. So if riders are complaining about a bad hotel, they should know that better ones are on the horizon. In the end, every team is bound to stay in a couple dumps and a couple palaces.
