Pop in at Action Cycles and ask to see the Commencal Meta AM bike for R26K ... it is even in your size :)

Ok, is that for the frame only or built up?

Get more travel. For proper AM riding I would say that 120mm is a little light in the trousers.

If you do decide to stay with the camber I would upgrade in this order:

Wheels

Fork

Brakes

Happy shopping!

Thank you, seems like 140mm is the min requirement from what I have heard thus far

Must say the nukeproof looks sick! Its going to be perfect for what you want to do.

If you can afford it then Ill say its a definite consideration. 14.6kg is very good for a 160mm travel bike and can easily be pedalled uphill. I would have preferred 819 rims though. BTW who stocks nukeproof bikes?

26K built up, the bike is still on the floor at Action and the guy who its taking you on the jump clinic this weekend ride one...funny thing is he was also at Action today and is keen to let you take his bike for a spin.

Just a side note, but a certain ex Mexican DH champ also rides one in CT

Yep. You definitely have more fun with more travel... These days most 140 to 160mm travel bikes are relatively efficient up hill. I ride my AM bike just about everywhere.

No matter how much you try and upgrade it, your current bike is never going to be a good AM bike with that rear travel and I suspect the head angle may not be slack enough. You tend to end up with something that's not good at anything and then you will still buy a good AM bike somewhere down the line. Rather bite the bullet now if you can afford it and sell the Spesh.

That Nukeproof looks superb value!

Thank you, they do look sick yes which is why I am considering them, just deciding on the route to take to get there.

A online store called Dial'd Bikes stocks Nukeproof bikes, www.dialdbikes.co.za which is currently who I am sourcing them from myself

Thank you, will need to pop in there to take a look at this bike. Haha... man that is awesome of the guy who is taking us for the jump clinic on weekend. It will definitely help to get advice and opinion from a user of such a bike. Great and look forward to the weekend

Now that is a very interesting side note... very interesting!
