my car did 45000 Kms last year, my bike about 1000. so I guess the ratio is about right.

My car did about 5000km in the last year. Across the three bikes, a lot more...

I don't even have a car...my wife has a car...and my three bikes add up to over double the current value of hers.

I also do more mileage and don't have any fuel bills.

Hmmm..

Car - Opel Corsa Utility 1/7Dti = 130 000

Bikes -

GT Fury Carbon - R 50 000 (based on new price of my bike on GT's Website)

GT Force Carbon - R 27 000 (based on what i payed off Obike)

GT Zaskar Alu - R 10 000 (just a guess as its built up from all spare parts)

KHS Carbon Road Bike - R 15 000 (Just a guess as it has old 9spd Ultegra stuff)

Mongoose Thunderball - R 5 000

So ... = R107 000 worth of bikes ... no i fall short of my car price ...

My car is a 1992 Nissan Sani 4x4 so its worth a bit more than my slightly upgraded GT Avalanche 1!

But both are equal when it comes to off road fun and exploring new places.

Being on the wrong side of 100kg's and consistently coming in the last quartile at races, I'm sure you'll all be relieved to know that 1 X DS 26'er, 1 X DS 29'er (wife's bike) and 1 X road bike, together don't add up to the price of my car. If it did, it would be a case of "look like Bobby Locke and play like bobbejaan". I'll have to loose 15 kg's before I can justify carbon and the like, and I'm more likely to buy a new car before then.
