Be happy about the shorter route. Heard they said on the start line they took out the swamp section next to serengeti with ice cold water above ankle depth 150m long and no way around it. Rode/walked it twice in summer and it wasn't fun then.

Haha well in that case I'm glad it was shorter, I only got my feet wet once toward the end, and it wasn't pleasant. I cycled home afterwards, so got an extra 20km in the legs anyway.

Do you know when the photos will be up? I put in my details and nothing

Also: R43 for a photo? Jeepers!

No idea, I only know it's them cause I saw the photographers. Seems like the going rate is between R40 - R50 these days.

It will cost you more than R30. Just wait for the water that was forced into orifices everywhere at high pressure to manifest into rust, you'll see..

HP washers , ta ta ta , you dont take your bike near those things !!!!!!!

i have serviced many bikes that have been washed with hp washers and the waters get blasted in everywhere .

As said , its gonna cost more than R30 , just wait for the water to mix into the grease and bearings .

Hey all,

Thanks for positive response, yes was a first time event so a bit limited on route & section that had more single tack towards end was a swap after Saturday's rain, hence having to come through North gate & residential area + distance a bit short. (just know how we panicked on Sat)

Thanks to all those who braved the weather was *&^%$#@ cold, we were standing outside since 5:30.

We have some pic's posted on : (more to come)

Some good one’s of guys falling in (sorry if that is you)

Plan is for Serengeti to build single track in estate & area so another MTB area for us.

Then we are also moving Emperor's Palace (Edenvale Classic, Road & MTB) to Serengeti in Feb.

Thanks again all for supporting & will improve on event.

I thought it was a great event and I particulary liked the co-operation between the two clubs (Evildale & Kemptune Pork). Venue was well organised, route well marked but the best was that it was on my doorstep....... so few events here in the east!!
