Please help which event to enter .What is the difference between the events? I don't want to waste my money, I like to race events.

The "Race" is called that for a reason, however, having said that; there are racing snakes and slow riders in all three events. All three events use batch starts and have people racing hard in the A bunch. The pro's ride the Race though, so the pace is "a bit" higher.

Actually, the short answer is; if you can get in you take whatever you can get.

Same route, same goodies, same alles except you start on different days. Here is the catch, the race is where you go if you are more serious about it. The other two are more relaxed ito vibe and people. Either way, it's a jol

Race - more racing snakes

Adventure - more guys drinking beer :)

Trail - more first timers this year. I suspect it won't be like that next year.

Put it to you this way if we were doing the trail this year we would have come about 13th.

We did the adventure and we came 34th.

Now if we did the Race we would only have come 240th.

So the trail and adventure are very close as the Race is way more for the racing snakes but there are slower guys doing it.

For the first one you do I would do the Adventure it was a total joll as we did consume the most beer.

If you are a half decent rider and get a bad seeding you will only be held up on day one, but its not too bad. We started in G on day one as my partner had done it the year before with his wife. Got held up here and there on the single track but it was not too bad. Day 2 we were in B nice seeding as we weren't realy held up on the big downhill and on day 3 we made it into A thats just balls to wall race down to the beach.

I was changing nappies, losing sleep and pulling out my hair :) Baby #2 put a spanner in the works this year, but I'm definitely on for next year - if I can get another entry of course :)

Just about R10k per team.

It depends how lucky you are. If you're high up on the list it could be this year, but it could also be never...

it could be years...seriously

I read somewhere (either on facebook or the website) that they have cleared the waiting list. If thats true, its going to be a mad rush again when they open up for the rest in August. Last year was chaos.

They cleared it last year but imo that is not the issue ito why people can't get an entry, its the whole loyalty program they have going.

PS for the record I am not against previous year's participants getting in front of the line.
