this sounds awesome

Stage 1 - proper Enduro stage (ride up and race down)

Stage 2 - XC stage (fully timed mass start 20km lap)

Stage 3 - CHAINLESS DH (ride to top remove chain race down)

Stage 4 - DH stage on tamed down DH track

Rules - only allowed one bike - and can only change tyres or tubes and pedals

SICK! Keen to host one of these soon in KZN ... who would be keen??

Maybe have it as cascades???

Sounds awesome!

We had a chainless DH race in Gauteng last year (at Helderkruin). Crazy thing was that Mr Frerichs was only about 5sec off the course record

Gravity-Life .... maybe we can do one of these on one of the sanctioned DH dates?? ... but change it up a bit with shuttles to the top for the Enduro, Chainless and DH events ... then we not exluding the DH riders ...

OR

we can add in a "team event" consisting of 2 riders per team who each have to do 2 stages ... so then a DH oke who only owns a DH bike could do the chainless DH and the proper DH and then his mate with a trail bike could do the XC and Enduro stages????

@Patches can't you organize something like this here in JHB?

Ooh! good idea! I could make a butt-load of cash and pay for some upgrades to my 4X bike...

hahah! just kidding! I will mention it to the Gravity All Stars chairman and see what we can brainstorm.

As for location... I'm thinking the Fountains area. There's Fountains, Groenkoof and Klapperkop all right near each other.

Klapperkop for DH and chainless. Maybe for enduro too.

Fountains for some XC or maybe even the enduro part.

Groenkloof if you want your bike jacked umm, I mean for xc

What would you suggest?

Could also work at Giba... Start with the Enduro (Could ride from the factories up to Shaya Moya, Gravity or the wooden hut as per the previous Enduro) and come down, then get a shuttle up for the chainless (What ever is left over from Gravity etc) and another shuttle up for the tamed down DH (Maybe cut out some of the gnarly stuff on the DH course...)

Leave out the XC. (Gives big boned okes like me a chance... ) Just a thought...

What are the chances of having a KZN enduro series next year?

You guys have had the Karkloof, Cascades and Giba ones so far that I know off, maybe do it the same as the giba one with the enduro on Sat and DH on Sunday at all the DH provincials?

Reason why I am asking is that I am sure there are more people like myself who would like to travel to all these races, but if they are double headers we can justify the costs, aswell as justify racing enduro as it will be a series, not merely a random race.

Good idea - i will bring it up at our next KZN MTB commission meeting.. I think double headers will be an awesome idea ... we would have to use Giba, Cascades, Worlds View and maybe Balgowan as Karkloof has a big issue with DH shuttling ... the enduro works there, but due to the safety regulations DH is too costly from an access point of view
