Creative way to keep/store a bike indoors

This probably isn't much to do with technical, but I've seen a few creative ways of storing a bicycle indoors and my hands are itching to build something.

So if you've got a cool/creative way of keeping your bike out of the way in the house, post a pic or description here please?

A bike hanger but in the house not in the garage?

Keeps it of the ground and high up out of harms way.

Easy to break into a garage more diffucult to get it out of your house ... well mostly, I have a seperate room for my bikes and all other bike crap. Works for me :)

I have a workshop/bikeroom with all the bikes hanging from hooks. Only possible to get lots of bikes fitted in because of the sloping ceiling.

If you like *really* simple - put one of these hooks in the wall, about 150cm above the floor. Turn the hook so it's sideways, then put the nose of your saddle in the hook, bike pointing towards the floor. Your brake-hoods provide the lower contact points, and keep the bike stable. If you've got several bikes, more hooks but alternating heights so they hang closer together. Cheap and effective. Doesn't damage either the saddle or the brake-hoods (I've been using this method for years).

Edit: also means you can hang up your bike without the wheels - can be useful.

Err, I'm blaming the time of night... But I'm not sure what you mean, draw me a picture please? ;-)

Is it something like this:

But with the bike hanging from the seat/seat post?

This also looks cool:

I like it! Have often thought that some bikes look like works of art and so then you can display them suitably! not sure if i want my frequently muddy, wide-bar, scratched and lurid green dirt jumper in my lounge as a conversation peice however.

ask that dealer in Cape Town who keeps selling stolen bikes, he seems to be quite creative at storing bikes.

Neils Wheels.

okay, this falls into the category of "economical" - in both price and space - rather than "functional art". All it involves is a hook, twisted sideways. The front wheels of the bikes don't touch the ground, so the only points of contact are saddle and hoods. Apart from one hole in the wall, there's no damage or marking to wall or bike - and you can take the wheels off, if you want to.

Ah now I see what you mean, thanks. It's an cool idea, but it'll take up too much space in my place, so i'll be looking at something a little more horizontal and closer to the wall. Those wooden designs look sweet, and I like working with wood...
