What clubs are here that I could join? How much is the membership fee? Best case would be if they do lots for MTB'ers. Thanx for any recommendation!
Skye Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Don't believe everything you hear!!!! Call the Pedal Power office tomorrow register with them so you can get a ppa number and I timing chip. When you register with them you automatically get a year recreational license www.pedalpower.co.za if you want to do it online

Willehond Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Legen, you don't HAVE to join PPA, but if you want to do road rides you get seeded starts only with PPA. Otherwise you ahve to buy a temp number even if you are registered with CSA! MTB now also lets the PPA bunch start before the great unwashed. If you don't mind seeded starts, let us know where you are based so we can suggest a good (active) mtb club.

Unless they make me an undercover marshall in the field - that would be fun!so if they even do seeded mtb races now it looks like there's no other chance...well, i guess i could always stay at home...

[/quote'] Sounds like amarider (African Mountain Bike Association) will work for you.www.amarider.co.za As far as I know you can get your license via them as well. Contact theteam@dirtopia.co.za for more details.
