Naah, bronchitis & overdresssing caused me to overheat and run out of breath. There is quite an overlap with the ICG East Rand route, so getting lost might not be your problem!

Is this a worldwide thing or a "local is lekker"? Maybe time to start one in PTA as well.

 

I think it’s awesome when cyclist just get together and do the cycling thing without interference from a regulating body

The group cycles (easier pace) via shortcut back to Greenside. So it is a 32km race there, and an 8km ride back.

I discovered on Friday night that the Forries lager PET Quart bottle fits perfectly into my bottle cage. ideal for the gentle ride back

Ride was great, average over 30kph in front bunch, including traffic lights and all. About 15 riders turned up. Next one is oon 6 September 2012

We started last night from the new Levi Commuter Store in Juta street and basically followed the CM route at an incredibly insane pace (for this old man at least). Dropped a lung after 10 odd k's and we finished back at the starting point around 24.5k's later.

 

Darling Beer was the recovery drink of choice.

 

Great venue with some really nice old bikes and the Levi's ain't too bad either.
