2008 XT groupset

I'm looking at getting a new drivetrain system, but than, the new 2008 XT groupset is for R4800 at totalcycling.

 

 

 

 

 

XT groupset with hydraulic disc brakes. The group is fully boxed with all instructions. Shift cables and hydraulic brake lines are included. All components are full aftermarket spec with boxes and instructions.

 

 

 

Group Includes

 

 

 

2008 XT crankset includin bottom bracket.

 

2008 XT M775 STI combined shift/ brake units or BML775 Brake levers + SLM770 shifter pods.

 

2008 M775 hydraulic disc calipers.

 

XT M772 shadow or XT M770 low normal rear derailleurs

 

Choice of front derailleur.

 

Choice of 11-32 or 12-34 cassette.

 

9sp HG93 XT chain.

 

 

 

Questions: I have on the options when ordering

 

 

 

Rear Derailler

 

1)RDM970 SGS Low Normal- no

 

2)RDM772 SGS Shadow Type = RECOMMENDED

 

 

 

Front Derailler

 

1)FDM970 Dual Pull Multi fit clamp = RECOMMENDED

 

2)FDM970E Bottom bracket mount - no

 

 

 

Shifters

 

1)STM775 Combined Brake/Shift lever

 

2)SLM770 Shift pods/BLM775 Brake lever

Take the Shadow rear der. It's like SRAM and narrower.

 

Take the Dual pull front der.

 

Take the normal lever and shifter combo not the STIs. This way, if something goes wrong or you want to change brake systems you do not need to replace your shifters.

 

BTW, CRC have the shifters and rear der for less then R950.

Rear Derailleur RDM970 SGS Low Normal is a Rapid Rise, RDM772 SGS  is the opposite with the new hidden hardware, a better choice if you ask me.

Front Derailleur, what frame? Unless it's something silly you'll need the FDM970 Dual Pull Multi fit clamp.

Shifters, do you want the pods to be seperate or do you want that whole all in one thing?

if something happend and ons piece brake, than its so much cheaper to replace or not?

 

 

 

but with 2 parts, do the handlebar than look like a helicopter cockpit, and no space left for my polar and GPS.

Popeye, talk to CW jnr. They have it for R5500. Will save you hassles with Vat and all that stuff.

para, ja ek gaan by hom koop , maar ek moet my gun "ge-loaded" he as ek by hom instap.

 

 

 

Ek moet die presiese goed vir hom se wat ek wil he. Dan weet hy as ek nie happy is, ek sy been en arm sal breek voor hy los angeles toe gaan :-) dan kan die hubbers mos 'n internet selection doen van wie eintlik moet gaan.

Jy sal sien, met die aparte shifters kan jy die display afhaal en dan het jy nog meer plek op jou bars. Vra die winkel om jou briek levers reg te stel. Wat ek bedoel is dat die XT levers nie link en/of regs gebruik kan word nie. Jy moet vir hulle s? watter briek werk met watter lever. Anders moet jy dit self oordoen.

My old Cannondale Gemini also used this mount.
