I have a carbon framed bike, I need to get a new bike rack, and have heard many differing veiws on hanging carbon frames on bike racks.

What say ye? Good or bad?

Getting a Thule Euroway type rack is not in the budget at this stage, so its either the hanging type or I have to keep taking the wheels off and putting the bike in the car, naturally a pain in the ringpiece, and not an option when we go away, as there won't be space for the luggage and bike.

Have you ever seen them test a carbon frame to destruction? Somewhere on the Hub there is a video of a Santacruz carbon Nomad? being put through stress testing to destruction. I reckon two of them will carry the weight of your car.

If it's only two bikes, look at the latest Bosal stand on type. Two of my mates have bought them. Seem to be made in Deutschland and folds up into a storage bag and fits under a counter. Reasonably priced in comparison to the Swedish kit and excellent quality.

We have been using a Bosal for almost 2 years, and can highly recommend it.

It cost in the region of 3k, which is cheap when compared to the other guys, that start at about 6k.

Not sure who the agents are in your neck of the woods, but google should help.
