Advice Please - entry level road bike

I am a mountain goat at heart, but I have entered a few triathlons that require a road bike. My budget is around R7,000-R8,000 maximum and I'm at a loss as to what to buy.

 

Any ideas on what provides the best value for money in this price range would be of enormous assistance.

Aluminium frames vary slightly, but you should be fine with a Shimano 105 groupset.

As far as I know bike shops are offering specials on Merida 2012 models as the 2013 models are coming out.You should be able to get a great bike for 8K

Look for anything in a Giant. Even Tiagra is good. For prices go to bicycling.co.za and click on buyers guide.

Look at solomons.co.za - they have some good deals on Fuji's with 10 speed tiagra group sets below your budget at the moment.

Also have a couple of bikes with 105 group set at your budget.
