Malgaliesberg mtb trails, please help

Hey fellow bikers.

 

Im going up to malgaliesberg next month and would like to put some mtb km on the clock.

Please can you request any trails I should go ride there.

Mojoman should be able to help you with this. There are a few. Check out Van Gaalen's Cheese Farm first of all. Great selection of trails, from easy-ish to pretty devilish. Should find their website online.

Edit: Van Gaalen's is very close to the Western tip of the Haartebeespoort Dam. About 20 - 30 mins NE from Magaliesburg itself.

 

There are also a few trails around the mountains that locals mtb'ers will know, but they can be a bit hectic, like Breedt's Nek. I haven't tried it myself yet, but have heard its good. Quite a climb.

Edit: It's very close to Magaliesburg, at a little town called Hekpoort. Look on the map.

 

If you're in Rustenburg, check out Kgaswane nature reserve. It featured in the recent Tour of Rustenburg pro race. Its on the mountain next to Rustenburg. Mostly tarred hilly roads, but some nice offroad trails.

Hi. If you are in Magalies village area give me a shout and I will take you around (riding partners are very, very, very scarce in my area!).

Otherwise local trails are:

Van Gaalen 012 207 01289 (we all know this one!)

Eastco 082 885 1994 (rough riding but in a game reserve so no vehicles and nice views)

Konka 014 597 5955 (a new trail, about 20km from Magalies)

Ingwe Bush Camp 082 449 9075 (again riding in a game reserve on the Magalies mountains)

Kingskloof - I dont have a number (located near to Krugersdorp, about 20 min from Magalies village)

Breedts Nek (Maanhaarand), Depending on where you leave from can be a fun or tough ride!

 

I would just call the guys and check pricing, opening times etc.

There's also trails at MSP. And from there, there it's also easy access to Brees Neck, and a bunch of other stuff.

You can also try Mountain Sanctuary, have not ridden there, I believe its a short route, rocky and sandy though. Beautiful hiking trails as well.
