Scott Bikes

I am looking at getting a Scott Foil but know little about the brand other than Mark Cavendish made it look like a FAST bike. Any thought and experience with Scott Bikes in general or the Foil specifically.

Thanks

Scott are regarded as one of the world's top brands. The Scott Foil also ranks right up there with the best. You cannot go wrong with a Scott.

They are a premium brand without the rediculous price tags that come with some of the other premium brands out there.

If it's good enough for the TdF & Epic contenders, it's good enough for you ;)

Haven't ridden a foil yet but it was designed using a wind tunnel...

If you're getting a Foil, please get another and post it to me. :w00t: Been riding a CR1 for 2 years now and itching to upgrade my frame to the Foil.

Scotticus, how are you finding the CR1. My lower back is telling me that the "plush" ride and more relaxed geometry is a fantastics idea but my (possibly misguided) competitive aspirations tell me I need something more aggressive? Does it ever feel like a compromise...? :whistling:

I recently got the CR1 pro and I am so happy and impressed with the bike I am no expert on road bikes but it really is a great bike to ride.

I would guess the Foil is pretty special

Semi high jack.

How can a person get your hands onto Scott frames,

I don't know about Jhb, but HotSpot Cycles in Pta East sells Scott :)

Here's my rig. I'm super stoked with the bike. It's an Addict R3. It'll be one of many Scott bikes I own. That impressed. Cycle with a mate who has the Foil with all the bells and whistles and he is like a pig in poo. He moved to that from a top of the range Bianchi.

What kind of riding are you planning on doing with the Foil. Its a real hardcore racing rig. If you not into the racing it might be a tad too uncomfortable over long distances. The CR1 is more for a century rider with still enough responsiveness. Not sure if Addicts are available. I think Spinnekop on the hub here has a Foil. Pm him for reviews.

If you are in the Pretoria area, give Alf Horn a call at Hatfield Cycles, he rides a Scott Foil himself and also sells it , he loves it !! Hatfield Cycles 012-3620036 Alf has always given me a very fair deal on all cycling goods, from bikes to services etc , etc. Enjoy the ride !!!
