Does any one know why Evox and USN Epic pro and Usn creatine creates havoc with my stomach.

I am not the only one, some of my ride buddies take probiotics to stop this. One chap had to pull out of race due to this mutti.

These powders cost a fortune and promis the world, but energygade works fine..

Are we getting sold marketing hype,,

Whats going on?

Enduren, water and apple juice!

+1 to the water and apple juice. I ride with that in the week and Epic Pro on the weekends. But going to start trying out Muscle Science Staminade soon as it is loads cheaper (with my friend being a brand ambassador).

EDIT: USN's RecoverMax gives me the runs and throwing up, been trying out Muscle Science Staminade Recover for the past few days as a recovery drink and it's been going well so far.

Hammer products work well for me. Also like the fact that they are all -natural. But as someone says above, different strokes for different folks.. what upsets one person's system might be the holy grail for someone else.

worth making sure that you're following the dosing instructions, though, as absorption rate of e.g. sugars has a max, and if you take a lot more in than your system can cope with, it could set up the runs..

+1 for Hammer, and the note on dosing instructions. Have had bad experiences when I overloaded on dosage of some brands.

Also .... I'm no scientist, but it seems to me like all of these have nice concoctions of sugars and stuff that would be a feast for bacteria. So every couple of weeks - I do a "deep clean" on my bottles i.e. normal soap and water, and then soak in a sink of water with Milton to kill off any nasties, followed by good rinse to get as much of the milton taste out.

+1 for Hammer products. Used them in the TransKaroo, after pulling the biggest rookie of rookies (trying out EpicPro for the first time on the 240km ride). Very easy on the stomach and great energy/recovery as well.

I had previously been using USN Cytopower, which tastes like jiuce and is solid on long rides. Don't know why I switched actually.

Thanks every one.

My bottles are very clean. I will try GI 32 , what is Enduren?

I talked to some of our riding group this morning, and it was funny just how many of us had this issue. Nearly all had the same issue, non had properly resolved this and it's does seem, some are affected more so by specific brands. I not mentioning brands as its a small group (12 )and could be unfair.

What I am sure is there is a issue with most of the local brands, I was on a USA MTB hub and this was not the case. They said the brands would out of bussines before they start, if it was causing the runs.

Could our folk making this mutti lack some scientific or real medical understanding. I beginning to suspect the brands that spend the most on adverts and marketing , promis most and are deliver less than what is required!!

I am looking at what's in the USA. Not always a fan of other product, but there seems to be a common problems hear in SA. Who else's has the runs...

Thanks

Interesting comment on SA vs USA brands - one thing that has kept me on Hammer is that I know the USA food standards are much tougher than here, plus with it being a bigger market and very litiguous I would agree it's unlikely they could get away with dodgy ingredients or sloppy manufacture. Also would prefer to buy local, but I have had no issues with Hammer, and I did have minor issues on couple of local brands.

Another thing to look at is maybe study the ingredient list - could be just 1 or 2 things in there your system doesn't like. While back I used to get bad headaches with any mix containing Glutamine. Did some reading and headaches are documented as a less common but known side effect. Stayed away from those, and no issues. Lot of mixes use Taurine also - generally a good thing for most people, but might be worth seeing if that or other things in there have a known side effect of upset stomachs.

Final footnote is that I weened myself back to being able to use Glutamine by gradually using small amounts on it's own in plain water after gym or cycle sessions. So if you do find 1 culprit ingredient, you may be able to gradually build up a tolerance for it to minimize the effect.

USN Epic Pro is the best laxative on the market

I have tried this a couple of times because if you look at the composition it has all the bells and whistles. Allot of people have stomach issues though. Maybe the beta alanine i think

Enduren is local but used by many pros. USN made me wanna puke but Enderen is really good. You can flavour it or not. And the Enduren Cramp & Fatigue Busters really works well (giving up all my trade secrets here).
