Stubborn UST Tyre Won't Fit

I had a similar issue with my Race King UST on a mavic 317 luckily I also had a couple of the green crowbars handy. The only way that tire is coming off the rim is if I cut it off

Can you not put the tyre on without the rim strips, and then get the rim strip on afterwards by moving both beads to one side?

 

In hind sight, I think that may have worked in my case had I tried it.

Also try leaving the tyre in the sun for a while before mounting .....

.... Add some vaseline to the rigid bead before mounting too.

26inch tire wont fit on a 29inch rim! B)

 

Use Astro Glide...

 

If that doesnt work... You're in for a thing...lol

Also make sure the bead is pushed into the deeper centre part of the rim.

Hi

 

For the life of me I cannot get this tyre to fit my rim. It looks as if the tyre is an inch to small but its not.

Any tips besides lubricating the rim?

Or like my dad always used to say:

“If at doubt use a hammer;

the bigger the doubt, the bigger the hammer!”

 

For some reason I think the "hammer" advice is not best suited in this situation
