As dumb as it sounds, go report it to your local police station, they will probably do it again and again and hopefully sooner or later get caught, then the more cases opened against them the better the chance of a conviction and getting them off the street. Noticed the other day on Beyers Naude a Chap cycling on a road bike, definately not his, he was not a cyclist, but what struck me was that there was still a championchip on the front wheel. Yesterday I offered a finder's fee in the area where it happened to anybody finding the bike and this morning I received a phone call from a guy who had "found" it. The R 1000 finder's fee was probably a lot more than the value on the black market. Everything seems untouched, even the credit card in the saddle bag (already canceled yesterday) was still there. Sad that one has to buy back your own property on the black market, but I am very happy. Thanks for all the words of sympathy and think twice before riding alone.
