If you weren't female yourself this would have been the most awesome pick-up line ever!!!

If you happen to find yourself in JHB at some point give me a buzz. Will happily take some beginners on an induction course.

Cycle-Fix got a slow relaxing ride Saturday Mornings from Pretoria East (At Silver Lakes) to Rosemary Hill and back. Several female riders.

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone. Seems like most group rides in Pretoria are organised by shops and I've always thought of shop rides as quite serious - not for social riders. I guess I'll have to join some to see for myself.

Thanks Anine, I'd love to join you guys when you're doing an easy ride. I'm very unfit at the moment and don't want to hold anyone up.

maybe we can show you rosemary hill one weekend? can you do a slow +- 18km? we can do the loop and then have coffee and a toasty afterwards :)

the singletrack rides are quite fast. I stopped going

+1 here. And they don’t care about the riders that are left behind. I tried to get my wife to ride with them but every time we went with them they just didn’t care about keeping the group together. I have to say that the rides we did were with the old management of the shop, so it might have changed a bit now. It seemed like they were more focussed on racing one another than doing a social group ride.

My wife joined the Epic cycles group a couple of times on her own and she enjoyed it. She said they are very friendly peeps and that they keep an eye out for beginners and ladies. Maybe give them a bash?

the last SINGLETRACK ride I did was a nightmare - can ave 16/17km and was promised they would go at that pace. Started at 222/25km/hour and by time we got across the Mooiplaats river to the singletrack I was on my own, one soul waited for me and I consequently told him I was going on my own. Left teh group never to be seen again and did a 30km solo. Was rather miffed. Their rides USED to be slower but not anymore. Bear in mind this was the slow group????

LOL! Anine is spot on - we take it easy and if anyone is slow its me! Our rides we have done are relaxed and fun. And the best part is that toasty and coke halfway! :w00t:

Also looking for a training group in pretoria for myself and my fiance. I stay towards the north, close to the Kolonade.

She is a first time MTB and I used to cycle a good few years back.
