Are they not just a marketing gimmick?  Ladies are people too you know, why do they have o be more "upright"?  Can't they handle a racing position?

 

Apart from saddles, I see no reason why they should be any different.

 

Oh, an of course being pink is critical as well....

I bought my wife one of these . . . (upgrade from the Fuji Roubaix Pro)

 

Full Carbon. Ultegra spec. Compact Crank.

The levers are designed to be nearer the bars to cater for shorter fingers.

The geometry is better suited to the female figure

And it's purple - go figure.
