Also still to finalize accomodation, last year we stayed at a B&B about 3k's from the start so might opt for that again.

@ Cheetah:

The biggest issue for me was traffic on the N1 descent after the hill of stage 1. Our group caught up to a long backup of cars on the descent last year. As the group was slowing down a bit because of this, some riders attacked the group, passing the cars on the right hand side, in the small space on the white line between the slow row of cars heading north and traffic speeding in the opposite direction. The whole bunch started to follow, untill somebody decided (rightly so) that it was very dangerous to do something like this, and let whe wheel go in front of him. Thus a break was established, changing the course of our race. I dont know if there is a sensible solution, perhaps bigger starting time gaps between the racing bunches?

 

Some other small things

A leaders jersey for each of the racing categories would help make the racing better.

Prizes for the sage winners in the racing categories. Even if it is just a handshake and a bag of oranges.

Flashlights in the tunnels!

 

2nd stage took too long to start last year.

 

Oh yes, get a decent boere-rock band man - skop gat. After the first song last year, the set was quite  amateurish!

 

 

Regardless of my 2c here, still the most enjoyable race on the calender, will definately travel again, all the way from Cape Town.
