I used the "standard delivery" method, and parcel was dispatched with Parcelforce.  Are they going to deliver the order to the street address I specified or are they going to deliver to a post office?  Not sure if the standard fee / Parcelforce is a door-to-door courier service or not?

i found that the smaller the package the longer it takes... 9dont know if its about space at the joburg mail center).

I have bought 4 times since december and everytime its between 2 and 4 weeks till delivery.

If you buy bigger rather take courier option.

I ordered a few small items in September last year with the free shipping option.

Big mistake in my case.

I've phoned and visited my local PO numerous times and sometimes I can see the person is actually trying to help me, but they have nothing for me, and they tell me there are more than 1 million parcels like mine still being sorted in JHB.

I'll still buy goods from CRC but will rather use the DHL option and work the cost into the whole purchase.

will go to the post office for you to pay duties etc upon collection.

edit: in fact I have had parcel force deliver straight to my office which an invoice for payment.

With DHL do you still have to pay the vat and customs fees on the package when it arrives?

Hi,

Parcelforce should deliver to your address specified within 5-8 working days. You'll need to pay them a R37.00 clearance fee and whatever the VAT is on the order in cash or you can do an EFT and give the delivery guy proof of EFT payment.

If you not at home they'll take it to the nearest PO where you can collect.

Hi

how long on average do you wait for order from CRC ?

i took normal shipping with no tracking :S

Ordered two tyres, dispatched on 6 January 2015 (Day after order) by normal mail and still waiting. According to our local Post Office there is still a backlog at the JHB depot. According to CRC's website it normally takes 4-8 working days with normal mail to SA, but clearly not with our current Post Office problems.

not CRC and not DHL but a Wednesday afternoon order from another UK bike shop had me drive home from the office on the Friday afternoon with my swag......it can be done.

SAPO needs to play catch up, although I think its too late for them now.

Thank you for your response, I have contacted the JHB Int mail centre...let's see what they say.

I bought two separate items (one from Wiggle, one another EU store) in early Sept last year - both normal post and just before the strike...  They arrived last week.

One I had to collect from JHB Int mail centre and the place is a shambles.  Took the person half an hour to locate my parcel in the store room - no system at all!  Fortunately the other got delivered to my local post office.

From now on I just use DHL Express option on all CRC purchases for the extra R250 and save myself the stress and aggro - always arrives within 3 business days.

In fact, I now don't but from overseas stores unless they have a pvt courrier option like DHL (and not one that uses SAPO for delivery / clearance on this side).

I felt like the wise guy ordering from CRC - saving lots of $$$ on my drivetrain. Ordered on the 26th. Guess I won't be seeing my drivetrain any day soon...

With the current exchange rate is it still worth while shopping over the seas?

You need to do the costing, I mostly order goods not available in sunny Sa.
