A friend of mine has a Devinci Wilson that has carbon seat stays and he had a vibration from the rear disk rotor. He tried lubing all the pivots, Tightening bolts etc etc. Eventually he bolted on a smaller rotor and the problem went away.

Maybe give a smaller or bigger rotor a try? Just a thought. The rotor might resonate (vibrate) at a certain frequency much like the string of a quitar so if you change the size of the rotor (guitar string) the irritation goes away.

I know this might sound stupid but i swear it worked on my mates bike.

wondering about that ?

I cant think it comes from a rotor, have a look at you wheels.

When I hang my bike my wheels is heavier (hope I manage to explain this correct) at a point, if I spin the wheels the wheel will eventualy stop at the same place.

Being because of the valve or where the Stan might have dried in the tyre from not riding for a while.

I have al so notice a bike shops when they (mech's) setup gears and the bike is on a service stand the bike sortoff hops while they spin the rear wheel.

There by your/our bikes wheels arent balanced...

Sounds like mechanical resonance to me.

Things to try.

1. Change rear tyre

2. heavier or lighter disc rotor

3. ensure wheel is 100% true and round

4. Try a completely different rear wheel if possible

Ok. Well there's the term. Thanks. Actually makes complete sense. sort of. Everything vibrates at certain frequencies. Some produce music like guitar strings while others produce annoying vibrations.

@ the OP. I read on an American thread on a similar topic that the likely cause for the vibration is that the frame is warped from a manufacturing fault and the vibration is caused by the wheels being slightly out of line with each other. If we factor in that Mericans tend to know everything I suggest you take a hammer to your bike and start over.

well thats the thing for the money I paid for the bike my feeling is I should not " have to live with it" I want it fixed or give me one that does not vibrate

If I wanted a vibrator I would have bought one ( much cheaper I might add) so I am awating the shops feedback since yesterday ( its been very quiet) but lets see how this pans out.

Haha. Just try a diff brake rotor before you do anything radical. I'm sure it's something small like that.

Ok so I took of the front wheel to check everything and then realise that the hole brake caliper is lose ( just came back from my LBS) they had to bleed the brakes and open them after I closed them when the wheel was off . So they never tightened the claiper bolts

I opened the brake pads thinking that the pads maybe need a little space ( this is when I realised the caliper is loose)

I opend the brake pads a little and now the lever pulls in almost all the way to the bar.

So I think I have solved one problem but created another.

I only opened the pads a little the lever should not give way that much .Its like it needs bleeding again , but no fluid came out

A bit upset that the LBS did not do the work properly ( I trust them with my bike and they cant even fasten two bolts after working on the bike)
