petatodd Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 We arrived at the start, the gun went. Then after about 5 minutes we started moving. Massed start with only a few guys seeded at the front. No music, no fanfare.

He did no training, finished it and never cycled again until this very day. He says he had no idea that it was the start of something great that would endure for over 3 decades, he just remember suffering horribly. eeeek and Roer 2

Well, if you do, we would love you to share those memories with us. The Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour will be 37 years old this year which means we will celebrate our 40th birthday in 2017. In the build-up to this, we intend featuring photographs, memorabilia and items of interest pertaining to the four decades of the Tour. And this is where you come in. If you participated during the years 1978-1987 and we hope you will be able to provide us with interesting anecdotes, photographs and memorabilia, if you have any.
