I have the SC SL.since 2007.Best bike I know

I was fortunate to buy the annodised frame so it looks as good as new still

Unfortunately they discontinued the annodised option

 

It is tough as nails and a stunning bike

They also have a 29er Super Light now

The Superlight design is one of the all time mountainbike classics and has been around for more than a decade if my memory serves me right. You cannot go wrong with it. It has been copied by a whole bunch of other brands over the years, which should tell you something. With modern shock technology (propedal etc) the single pivots have become even better, which is why Santa Cruz keep on making them alongside their multi-pivot bikes. There are enough people out there that like how they ride (very versatile) and how little maintenance they need. It's the kind of bike people buy and keep forever.
