Hi,

So doing W2W next weekend (will be my first multi day race) and just wanting advice on what people recommend carrying during the race eg. spares, tools etc.

Thanks

tube, bomb & adapter, pump, plugs & plug tool, multitool, gators, couple of cable ties, tyre valve (if you're tubeless), spare derailleur hanger for your bike. 50ml refill bottle of Stans.

Other than the hanger for your own bike, split the above with your partner to carry each day.

Take a pair of brake pads in case of rain. If it's dry, don't bother. Spare tyre.

Take a clean cloth and some bike cleaner with you, the bike wash is DIY. Take a bottle of chain lube and cloth to wipe excess off.

Stick to a minimum. There are plenty of mechanics around who carry spares.

Derailleur hanger, bombs, multi tool, chain link, chain breaker, plugs (if you have tubeless, if not a tube), maybe a bank bag with extra energy mix powder, if you like eating between water tables, a muffin of banana, or whatever it is you want to eat.

You will get some things at the water tables, so maybe only cater for "eats" up until the first water table.

sense of humor/race face, depending on what you want to achieve

O yes, don't forget your partner ;-)

I-pod (to afterwards chill with music if that's your thing). Suntan lotion (you might be out there longer than planned). Camera (always). Rain jacket (it's the Cape). Warm clothes (snowed last year). Crocs or slip slops (to help you slip & fall in the showers). Pillow (sleep is important) Sense of humour (essential kit for life in general)

Yeah I heard snorring and early bird riders can make sleeping a mission!

Weather is looking great for the start next Friday. Organisers promised that no matter what, we will get to the finish this time.

I'm riding the Adventure with my wife and would be keen to do the Race as well. If anyone needs a partner at short notice, let me know.

I'm such a dopehead early in the morning, I'd better not take a chance with the pee-in-a-bottle thing, I'll just get that mixed up with my drinking water.

If the weather is good (no rain) then bibs from day1 can be washed an be dry and ready for day 3. I would rather do that than to get a new bib at this late stage. If you have 3 comfortable and broken in bibs, then taking 3 is smart.

I have one pair of assos shorts on the way out and a newish bottom of the line craft pair(the pad isnt great) so thought possible a new pair might save my @ss...

I take only one bottle with a red top - its the pissbottle. It may not be Nam, but getting mud in your tent in the dark is quite k@k too!

...and I take Stilnox (short acting sleeping pill), it beats earplugs everytime. Remember a few Immodiums if you get the runs from all the goo sachets.
