  1. Bought this stock S-works Epic Evo in October 2021. Since then I’ve upgraded the groupset to Eagle AXS, dropper Reverb AXS, saddle to S-works power saddle, stem to Extralite Hyperstem, bars to Reverse Tracer XC and added time gold colour ti bolts to seatpost clamp, seatpost clamp, brake clamps and bleed port. Sorry it’s a bit dirty!
  2. My Canyon Speedmax CF 8.0 LTD and Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 8.0
  3. No stress! In hindsight I should have hung onto mine but didn't have the space.
  4. Thanks, I have one of my own and the reason I ask is that Im needing to box and ship it and would love to use an original Canyon box with all the padding that comes with it. You didn't keep your box perhaps?
  5. That's my next option but if you see all the beautiful work that goes into packaging a Canyon you'll know why I'm asking. there are velcro'ed pads for handlebars, seatpost, front wheel etc that means i can keep everything nice and safe but not have to dismantle the whole bike.
  6. Is anyone in the Cape expecting a bike in the next week or two? I'd like to take the box of your hands as I need to send my Canyon to the States.
  7. What light are you running on your handlebars? I'm struggling to find one that fits the shape of the bars.
  8. Hey Guys, if anyone in cape town brings in a full bike please could i take the box and protective packaging off your hands. I'm moving overseas and id like to package my bike how it arrived here.
  9. Molteno Road in Gardens, 1.1km at over 12%.
  10. I haven't actually but its at the LBS now so I'll ask them to weigh it.
  11. Nope I really didn't like Antares that came on the bike so put my power saddle back on. I prefer the shorter nose.
  12. Thought I'd share my updated Canyon CF Ultimate SLX. I sold the Mavic Cosmic Carbon Pro and bought HED Ardennes Black with Vittoria Corsa G+.
  13. New wheels day for my Canyon CF Ultimate SLX: -HED Ardennes Black thanks to Raoul at privateer.co.za -Vittoria Corsa G+ Graphene 25mm tyres from cwcycles.co.za
  14. I don't even ride a motorbike but geez that is super cool!
  15. If anyone decides to buy a Canyon please please would you let me know! I'd like to buy a Garmin mount for my Canyon H36 bars but $65 shipping on a $35 part seems a bit much. I'd really appreciate if someone would let me slip on into an order they are placing. Would obviously compensate you for it.
  16. Nope that's right! You will pay in USD. They don't give prices in rand so you will not be able to get an exact rand amount until you've actually paid and the funds go off your account. I bought at R11.80 to the $ and after bank fees it was more like R12.05 to the $.
  17. This seems like a good place to post my question. I have a Carbon frame (i promise i know the year of manufacture not just the year of purchase ;-) ) whose rear droput where the hanger connected the the frame snapped. I have spoken to a reputable repair carbon repairer who says the fix is straight forward and he has done a few of them. I would obviously disclose this when i sell the frame but I'm wondering if i should sell it as is and let the buyer fix or fix and then sell it. if i sold it as is i would obviously reduce my price by the amount i have been quoted to fix it. so if i would sell it for 8k fixed i would sell it for 5k as is if i knew the repair would cost 3k. Which would be easier to sell?
  18. so I actually watched a video on GCN about the Canyon factory and how they manufacture. They don't build the frames as orders come in but rather have production runs of various models. I would probably say based on how efficient they are at getting orders out these estimates are guidelines that they most probably revise shorter with the estimates being the maximum time. i agree best would be to contact them directly.
  19. The Canyon website has a great tool that allows you to enter all your measurements and then spits out the recommended frame. Its pretty good because I once entered my inseam wrong and based on my height the website said either I have really short legs or I did something wrong so I went back a remeasured and sure enough i had done something wrong. I'm having the bike setup tomorrow so i will reply if it comes back that i got the wrong size but based on the website i got the same size as i normally ride.
  20. Whatever you do don’t buy a Canyon! 4 days from placing the order to it arriving on my doorstep. 20 minutes to put it together. Amazing build and specs for the price, even with import duty and VAT. Looks killer! So yeah...definitely don’t buy one... ????
  21. John O'connor Cycles in Mouille Point! Seriously professional! They do a lot of high end o bike builds for clients.
