Weather not looking great for Langebaan Saturday  . I can deal with rain, in fact I welcome it, but I can't deal with 32km/h southerly winds

Well if it is in a southerly direction then it will be in your face from the start until the first turn point then it should be helping you along until the next turn around and from the back when you loop back at the end. That is on the 80km route.

My compass and sense of direction is working perfectly, thanks CK. I just opt not to battle against Mother Nature for ANY length of a funride, especially at near gale force speeds.

Looks like Andrew S forgot to turn the his Strava off when he was driving home.

Gutted I'm missing this race, I really love this ride, beautiful scenery (not that I look at much more than the next 5m of road ahead of me), a fun final climb... and the best spot post race to have a cold finishers beer and a yarn with really friendly people.

Yea I get what you're saying, give me anything but strong winds and I'll ride with a smile but not gale force winds. Only saving grace would be that it would be from the rear nearing the end, that is if the direction holds. Got caught out on to big weekend rides in the past over here where the wind should have been from the rear but turned on me resulting in a full on head wind 90% of a 80km ride. Not fun <_< But that's the gamble right :whistling:
