If the cap on the fork doesn’t physically turn when you use the switch then I don’t think it’s cable actuated, but I’m sure there are others who know more. All the “remote” does on one of my forks is use a cable to pull the damper closed, which I could do by hand (the damper cap literally turns). But on my other forks there’s no moving part on the fork that I can turn and if I remove the remote it would just be permanently in the open position. That’s my experience anyway!

This is how I have it at the moment. There’s no moving part, its just permanently in the open position.
