Apparently the suspension is a bit dodgey though

I'd rather jump off a building for free before buying a road bike...whistling.gif

It's the new thing to hit the streets and it's a 29'er but we call it a 700c.

20k is a ripoff!!!

You can get a more than half decent NEW bike for that price.

Add a 3k and you get a carbon Momsen 29" with XT grouppo.

Happy Hoopin (on a NEW hoop, for that $)

Have a look at the geo on the 96, I know of a lot of peeps who bought one and then sold it after a few rides, might not be as comfortable as you would think. the 99 is more plush form what I can gather

I have always been a bit wary of buying second-hand - sorry all the okes that use the classifieds. I am currently looking at upgrading my bike and I have the oppertunity to get a 2 year old Merida 96 Carbon for around 20k. Now you can get quite a decent new bike for this money. It wont be carbon but will have very somilar components. So am I mad to consider buying second hand or am I mad to miss out on a Carbon 96 for 20K? All advice welcome. Ta

Silverback have some good deals for 2013 bikes.

dunno. I have a seat fitted on the top tube and I pedal my lightly around. He weighs 17kgs. So when you ride your kids around, the weight of the bike sorta becomes irrelevant.

I only buy second-hand, but that is a rip-off. For second hand you should be looking at around 1/4 to 1/3 of the price, if its not, just wait awhile something better will pop up.
